BREAKING NEWS: New Orleans Saints Donate Entire  $12.9 Million Bonus and Sponsorship Earnings to Homeless Shelter Initiative, Funding 150 Housing Units with 300 Shelter Beds

New Orleans, Los  — In an unprecedented act of generosity, the  New Orleans Saints organization led by ownership and key players, has announced the donation of  \$12.9 million —comprising recent bonuses and sponsorship earnings—to a city-wide Homeless Shelter Initiative

The funds will directly support the construction of  150 transitional housing units and 300 emergency shelter beds** across Orleans Parish, aimed at tackling the growing crisis of homelessness in the region.

> “We’ve seen the pain of homelessness affect families, veterans, and youth right here in our city,” said a statement from Saints owner  Gaynell Benson “We knew we had the resources to do more than talk—we needed to act.”

Several Saints players, including team captain Demario Davis, have long been involved in community outreach, but this marks the **largest single donation in franchise history** toward a social cause.

> “I grew up seeing what it means to go without a home,” said Davis during a press conference. “It’s not about charity—it’s about dignity. Everyone deserves a safe place to sleep.”

The initiative, in partnership with local nonprofit housing groups, is expected to break ground later this year and will prioritize support for veterans, families with children, and those transitioning from shelters to permanent housing.

City leaders hailed the move as “a defining moment of civic leadership,” with Mayor **LaToya Cantrell** adding, “This goes far beyond football. The Saints are literally helping us rebuild lives.”
