Latest NFL Mock Draft sends Vikings new prospect that will give Brian Flores the next Andrew Van Ginkel

Over the course of the first 10 weeks of 2025, the Minnesota Vikings have been sent 41 unique players over the span of 321 different mock drafts. Of those, 167 selections have been to just 12 defenders, all of which were members of the secondary.

Taking a player in the secondary would be a smart move for the Vikings during April’s NFL Draft. There isn’t much high-end talent or potential in the room and they could use an influx of talent. There are other positions the Vikings could potentially target, which would be appealing for general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.

Vikings take Andrew Van Ginkel clone in latest mock draft

Because of where the Vikings currently sit, the Vikings can go in any direction you can think of. Two positions that haven’t been discussed much are both edge rusher and linebacker.

While neither is a dire need for the Vikings. they could use depth at both positions. The latest mock draft from our own Destin Adams at A to Z Sports sent a new prospect to the Vikings in Georgia Bulldogs linebacker/edge rusher Jalon Walker.

Walker is a fascinating player. He is best as a pass rusher, but he might not be best as a full-time edge rusher. Luckily, he’s also a talented linebacker. That will evoke feelings of Andrew Van Ginkel, who was a second-team All-Pro this year.

Defensive coordinator Brian Flores loves to have versatile players, so they signed Van Ginkel and drafted edge rusher Dallas Turner last year in the first round. Getting Flores another weapon to utilize would take the defense to the next level.
